400T Type A Outrunner Brushless Motor

This is an awesome direct drive Motor. Dollar for dollar about the best up grade for GWS war birds I have seen. This motor is comparable to the Mega 16/15/7 and other 400T models on the market. But un-like the other brands this is a type A motor, meaning the shaft is easily reversible and/or replaceable. So when the landing is not so great and you break or bend a shaft you do not need to replace the bell for $10-$15. Simply replace the shaft for $3.00 instead. Recently reworked the shaft now has very close tolerances eliminating vibration, Magnets are good to 180 degrees, High speed bearings supporting the shaft on both ends. And very rare in the industry, and required by Mile High RC for all the 500 and smaller size  motors we carry, the stator is double bonded limiting stator movement on nose in landings/crashes. All leading to better efficiency and increased power.

Motor comes with 3.0mm shaft, an X mount, screws, and 3.5mm bullet connectors to plug to the ESC. Fits in to any GWS type speed 400 gear box. And has fit every 400 size aluminum outrunner type mount I have tried so far. Mounting holes are 16mm (or roughly 5/8 in.)

Aside form the awesome performance of this line of motors. They are extremely user friendly.

The shaft can be moved from pusher to puller. Simply loosen an allen screw and the shaft slides out. Flip it over (don't forget to move the C-clip), tighten it back up and you  have a pusher motor. Un-like others on the market, to change the shaft you do not need a press and the bell does not need heated possibly causing damage to the magnets. So you can swap from pusher jet or wing to your favorite puller application with ease. More Info flipping the shaft here.

All shafts are 3.0 mm but we have 2.3mm shafts that can be swap out for you. Should you break a shaft we do carry them or, any GWS, MPI, or any other 3.0mm shaft will fit. We suggest using a prop saver it will help reduce prop breakage and shaft bends on the not so perfect landings. Shafts, prop savers, and other parts can be found here.

All shafts are 3mm but we usually stock 2.3mm shafts if you prefer. With the 2.3mm shaft a pinion from a GWS 400 gear box will fit perfectly. Also no more press fitting a pinion and risk bending the shaft. Simply slide the pinion on and apply a dab of lock tight.

Tech Notes: This motor is conservatively rated at 12 amps. Folks flying at lower elevations with an 8x4 are peaking at 13.5 Amps. But here at almost a mile above sea level the air is thinner. To get the performance from our motors we usually have to prop up (increasing amp draw) or volt up (creating higher rpm's/amps). That being said keep in mind at lower elevations you will develop more thrust with little increase in amp draw. Fun little motor for planes to 20 oz.. Use on GWS type war birds and other parkflyers to 20oz.

GWS Aluminum Stick mount. Allows easy manipulation of thrust angle. It is stiff and ridged but in general will bend in a crash before the stick breaks causing airframe damage.

3mm Prop Adaptor : 3mm prop adaptor. For direct drive or on the high KV motors where a prop saver can not handle the speed.

Plastic GWS stick mount suitable for 400 and 450 series outrunner motors. Motor mounts for 10mm stick mount.
